The story revolves around a house named "Pulakkarakavu Veedu" which is very old and is now owned by Appumash and his family. Appumash has one son who aspires to be an I.A.S and three daughters, the second one being Ponnambili. Apart from them, Appumash niece Malavika stays with them. She is an active member of the family and is daughter of Appumash’s sister who died young. The other two daughters are Asha and Ammu. Ammu is physically handicapped. Appumash waits with hope that his family will come out of all financial crisis, once his son passes I.A.S. But many turns and twists happen and the rest of the story is about the family overcoming it. The heart rendering story has made the soap a massive hit and the audience watch it with emotions and even start praying for the happiness of Appumash family.
